Our model of delivering services was once commonly known as the ASP model, or Application Service Provider. The name quickly took on a negative connotation in the post-Dot-Com era and it fizzled out since. Now, application services that we have been providing for years are alive and well again. This method of delivering applications online, especially those on a paid subscription basis are now known as SAAS (Software As A Service).
